ASPERX Laptop Power Bank 20000mAh

I’ll be the first one to admit, I may have a slight addiction to power banks. It stems from my somewhat obsessive fear of running out of battery power for all my devices. I own no less than a dozen different types of battery banks. Some large, some small. At the moment, this particular one is my favourite. Let me explain why:

First off, if you have traveled on a plane recently you have likely seen the TSA signs that say, “Max lithium battery size is 20,000mAh”. It just so happens (not by coincidence I’m sure) that this battery pack is 20,000mAh. If you just need a battery pack to charge up your phone so you can watch cat vids on the train ride home, there are cheaper options out there. If you need enough juice to run your laptop for a few hours this baby will get the job done!

The first thing I noticed upon unboxing was the heft. It has a quality feel to it. Sort of like a small aluminum brick. The size is bigger that a small phone power bank, but its not overwhelmingly massive. It will slip into a knapsack for sure and likely most computer bags as well. The display is fantastic. 3 brightness levels and the option to have it on all the time or shut off after various selectable time intervals. Two of my favourite things about this unit is the built in 24-inch flat USB-C power cord that means you don’t have to fumble around and dig though your bag to find a cord. It’s simply ready and at hand, conveniently tucked into the recessed slot in the bottom. If you want to charge multiple devices at once well, you’re going to need to dig for a cord. First world problems. My second favourite thing is the real time usage readout. It shows you how many watts your device is drawing and how long the battery pack will last that that rate. I found both to be bang on accurate. It was interesting to see that my Microsoft surface laptop was drawing between 15 and 17 watts while writing this review, but start rendering some 360-video footage and man, does that number ever climb fast. Currently at 16 watts the power bank is showing me about 4 hours of run time. That’s pretty decent. Combined with the built in laptop battery I could go for over 10 hours. That’s more time than I could ever imagine sitting in front of a screen.

Like I said, the unit has a heavy quality feel. It comes with a top-quality braided USB-C charge cord and a lovely velvet bag to store the power bank and accoutrements in. Charge time (using my 65-watt Samsung charger) was speedy and charge time on my Samsung S-22 was also pretty quick. I was able to achieve a “super fast” charging status) on the phone using the built in flat cable.

I don’t give a ton of 5-star reviews but honestly, I think this one deserves one. I can’t find any obvious faults. I suppose it could be cheaper at $120 but with a $30 off coupon (at the time of my order) the price is really good. I absolutely do recommend this product.

This battery pack is perfect for laptops! I'm using it for a 2023 Macbook Pro, and it's just what I need. The USB-C cable is attached, rolls up into the battery pack, and then magnets to the end so it's out of the way. My Macbook recognizes it immediately and doesn't give one of those weird errors iPhones sometimes give when you use non-Apple branded cords. The screen shows the percentage level on the battery, which is very helpful as compared to the usual 4 lights that show you the percentage to the nearest 25%. You can also get to an info screen, screen brightness, and screen time on by pushing the power button. This battery pack is on the larger and heavier side, since it's got so many mAh, so I don't tend to use it for anything but my computer, as it's no big deal to tuck it into my computer bag. But it does also have a USB-A port and a second USB-C port. Overall I'm very happy with this!

These modern high-capacity battery packs continue to blow my mind.

Cable: Super convenient, and stows away cleanly. The cable is just over 2ft long for anyone who's curious. Seems durable despite being a ribbon cable.

Output power: Frankly, the output is nuts. I've charged laptops, phones, even run a soldering iron with this.

Build quality: It's box of compact batteries, so yeah it's got some heft. Little over a pound (~500g). The display looks great.

Right when I opened this and looked at this product I was impressed. It feels extremely well made and tough. The retractable USB C charger is amazing addition.. I love the extra ports and carrying bag. I’m unsure if they are all tested or if mine was used even tho I couldn’t tell besides the fact it’s been through 5 cycles (see picture) before I used it once which did slightly upset me but that may be all of them. I charged my phone almost completely quickly and the battery was still string (see picture). It’s easy to carry and does its job extremely well. I hope it lasts a long time cause this product rules! It’s a reasonable price for the quality of it. It’s fast portable and durable what more could you want? It’s easy to understand and use as well with great detailed instructions!
